April 11 2008 – Who’s reading the SNS this week?

What a diverse top 10 this week. The SNS had readers from 47 of the 50 states – gotta do something about that potential fan base in Wyoming, Rhode Island, and Vermont – are you people online or what? But we digress – the top 10 states came in loud and proud – the percentage of new readers is just phenomenal – lowest is 75%, highest is 97.44% – nice numbers. Enough stats – meet the top 10:

10: Florida – with 84% new visitors, our Florida readers were most interested in the emerging sexual harassment/pj pineapple pizza party scandal coming out of the Ohio Democrat A.G. Marc Dann’s office

9: Maryland – the Terrapin state brought 75% new visitors into the SNS family whose favorite article was the emerging sexual harassment/pj pineapple pizza party scandal coming out of Ohio Democrat A.G. Marc Dann’s office

8: The Show Me State bringing in 88% new readers who split their favorite posts between the Ohio pj pineapple scandal, and Boy George’s emergence as a factor in the Missouri Democrat A.G. primary…nutty…fruity…

7: The Commonwealth of Virgina brought in 85% new readers who were most interested in…Marc Dann, pajamas, pineapples, and pizza

6: The great state of Texas had a spike of 91% new readers who were thoroughly fascinated with…you guessed it Ohio’s Democrat A.G. Marc Dann and fruit, pizza pie, and sexual harassment

Ok – we’re sensing a pattern here, and so are you we know (you probably saw the pattern before we did), so we’ll just quickly tell you that the top five are rounded out with (and this is in order here): Illinois, New York, Mississippi, California…

And the state with the top number of SNS readers this week is: OHIO! Yes, Ohio. Buckeye readers, new and old, cared #1 about Democrat A.G. Marc Dann’s pj pineapple pizza party. And really who could blame them? With posts like The Rumpus in Columbus, Dann announcing his stepping aside in the pineapple pizza probe, Update Number 1 with his hometown paper talking about him being on his way to being “one and done” as AG, the elements of a cover-up chronicled by an Ohio blogger, and the story getting national attention from the saucy Wonkette, the appearance of Marc Dann possibly blaming the victims in this mess, and finally Update Number 2 – complete with video of Marc Dann rambling, bobbing and weaving, a more detailed chronology of the serious issues that have plagued Marc Dann and his employees since taking office, and some more questions that need to be asked by reporters and voter alike, the SNS was just too hot to put down – even for state employees apparently.

So, maybe not so diverse in favorite articles this week, but certainly diverse in the national attention the SNS is getting from coast to coast – and Hawaii and Alaska!

Keep the tips coming, enjoy the SNS, and let us know what you think.
