INDIANAPOLIS (Map, News) – Raising the state sales tax may be the simplest plank of Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels’ plan to cut property taxes.
It might also be the toughest to sell in the upcoming legislative session, despite a recent statewide poll that showed a majority of residents favored a sales tax hike if it meant lowering their property taxes.
