Hip Hop Mogul Russell Simmons has endorsed Republican Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele’s candidacy for the United States Senate in Maryland this week. Steele is only the second Republican ever endorsed by the “godfather of hip-hop”. Simmons, along with Cathy Hughes, founder and chairman of Radio One, a black run broadcasting company, hosted a fundraiser and grassoots event for the Lt. Governors campaign.
