The poultry industry is calling the state of Oklahoma’s request for a ban on poultry litter application in the Illinois River watershed a publicity stunt and said there is no evidence of a single person becoming ill from its use.A statement from the Poultry Community Council issued Thursday took Attorney General Drew Edmondson to task for his claims that use of poultry litter as a fertilizer is an imminent and substantial endangerment to public health in the watershed.
