MS: Judge Doesn’t Buy Dem AG Hood’s Excuse

Not much time to savor last night’s election win for Mississippi’s Democrat A.G. – Hood has to answer for seemingly violating a legal agreement he made with State Farm. Not a fun hair of the dog moment we’re sure.

NEW ORLEANS — Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood is scheduled to testify today – a day after his re-election bid – at a hearing for a lawsuit that accuses him of violating an agreement to end a criminal investigation of State Farm Insurance Cos.U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Parker refused Tuesday to postpone Hood’s scheduled appearance at a federal courthouse in Jackson, or to limit the scope of his testimony in the case.Hood had argued that Tuesday’s election didn’t give him time to properly prepare for the hearing. Parker, however, said he isn’t convinced that the timing of the hearing “prejudices him in any way.”
