Marc Dann – Entering the Age of Forgetfullness?

Ohio’s Democrat A.G. Marc Dann appears to ONCE AGAIN find himself firmly pinched between a rock (promises he made to donors and voters in Ohio in 2006) and a hard place (present day, looking to make political hay at anybodies expense). You may recall that during the 2006 General Election Dann spent many hours and dollars attacking the outgoing Republican A.G. saying that if the voters chose Marc Dann – things would be different in Columbus. Well, much to everyone’s shock and surprise – including Dann’s – Ohio voters threw Dann into office and said in effect – you’ve done the talk – now walk the walk. As you can see here, we’ve been all over this stream and theme in Dann’s tenure as A.G. for a long time. This time it’s with donors to his campaign. Donors who claim that:

…then-candidate Marc Dann assured operators of the games that he would not fight to put them out of business, several of the operators say.
They showered his campaign with thousands of dollars, helping to fuel his come-from-behind victory as Ohio attorney general.

And now:

Today, as Dann presses a legal battle on several fronts to rid Ohio of such games, some of the operators accuse the Democrat of breaking a campaign promise, albeit not one that he had made in public.

The truth is that Dann’s campaign received over $100,000 from gambling interests in Ohio – you think they rounded up all that money on just a blind hunch – or was there some conversation that took place. Nobody’s claiming any kind of assurances – that’s not true – some of the gaming donors say Dann himself said he wouldn’t pick any fights with the gamers.
A “he said – he said” for sure, but from a big picture perspective – Marc Dann’s inconsistencies are incredibly consistent.

A state and local Democrat leaders who continues to behave badly.
