KS: ‘To Catch A Predator’ Annoys AG’s Office

As you read the article, one of the problems that the Democrat A.G.s office has with this groundbreaking program (no, we’re not getting any kickbacks so don’t get all investigatie (not a word) on us) is that the show discloses the “techniques” used by law enforcement to catch these online scumbags. To quote a recent automaker media campaign – “Duh!”.

“While these shows may get headlines and embarrass people, they may not always get the results law enforcement would in the same scenario,” said Ashley Anstaett, spokeswoman for Attorney General Paul Morrison’s office, which runs the state cyber-sex crime unit….

How else do we think middle aged gun toting, badge wearing heroes catch these scumbags? Fortune tellers. Of course you act like a teenager to catch these guys. Is Paul Morrison, that’s the Dem AGs name really upset that these guys are being taken off the street, or is he upset that his office isn’t having as much success – and possibly catching some local political heat as a result? Heck – maybe Mr. Law And Order (again, not a plug) should think about calling NBC and Chris Hansen (the brand really works – the shows on like 22 times day) and offering to partner with him. Heck, why don’t all 50 state A.G.s offer to partner with the folks over at G.E. Television on this – talk about scaring the predators back under their rocks.
This reticence to use every tool available to get predators off the web really smacks of what Colorado Democrats did months ago when they spiked a GOP bill that required sex offenders on the web to register all of their email and screen names with the authorities because they thought it was good enough. Well – let’s wait until we perfect solving crimes before we start – great strategy.
To Paul Morrison, and the rest of the Dem crowd out there – it’s time to lead.
